Nelson Mandela’s profound statement encapsulates the transformative power of education. It inspires hope and underscores the importance of our mission at the Patrick’s Kids Foundation (PKF). Every child deserves the opportunity to excel and thrive. With that belief, PKF stands out in its approach to empowering Haitian youth as agents of change in an ever-changing global world. The Foundation focuses on cultivating strength through education and leadership within local communities. Inspired by our late beloved brother, Patrick (Pat) Jacques, who fulfilled a purpose of support, mentorship, and generosity, PFK, and its quite unique approach, is geared towards providing equal opportunity for children in Haiti. The core foundations of the program are built upon rigorous academics, creativity, and innovation.

At PKF, we value teaching the youth the importance of taking up space, especially within a socioeconomic society. Our programs, including College Prep, Entrepreneurship, Mentorship, and Leadership classes, significantly impact our students. We aim to help our ‘scholars’ thrive confidently to sit at any table in which they might receive the opportunity to do so. We remind our scholars, despite the hardships and tribulations they may encounter, they deserve the chance to achieve greatness.  As the scholars they are, they deserve to be seen; they deserve to be heard. We strongly reinforce that what truly matters in life is their character and their thirst for knowledge. To make the scholars’ journeys more compatible with seeking gainful, future employment, our sponsors and partners Haiti Projects, Health Equity International, ADF, Greening Haiti Fund, Ferme Tamarin and CREUS have made that possible by providing our students with access to computers, digital educational programs, books, supplies, leadership training, and internship opportunities.

Patrick’s Kids Foundation started as a young seed and has continues to blossom into a marvelous garden. Much like a garden, PKF contains healing properties, community growth, and vibrant life. With those principles in mind, we guide Haitian youth so that they can plant positive seeds in every space they step foot in.

We are so deeply grateful to Pat, whose inspiration led to the creation of this worthwhile grass roots organization.
